Membership - How to Join Us

At Solent Running Sisters, we prefer it if you come along to try us before joining - so you can check that we are right for you! Check out our Club Runs page to see when & where we meet so you can pop along. Please try to let us know via our Facebook page if you're coming so we can give you a warm welcome!

If you have never run before, are returning to running after a long break or are unable to run for 30 minutes yet, our Beginners' course is the best way to start and more details are on our training page.

If you can already run for about 30 minutes, (however slowly!), there is no requirement to complete one of our beginners courses. Simply come along to a session and make yourself known to the leader.

If you've already run with us and you are ready to take the next step to join the Solent Running Sisters, the membership form is further down this page - but please read the following details first. As part of your membership you will also gain England Athletics Affiliation.
SRS Membership benefits include:
  • Free access to all our training sessions - as many as you like and from any of our locations.  All are led by England Athletics (EA) qualified leaders or coaches
  • Free monthly track training sessions throughout the year
  • Discount at local running shops including Alton Sports and Alexandra Sports
  • Free entry into the local cross country league races - CC6 in winter and RR10 in summer
  • Almost guaranteed running buddies at local races & events!

EA Affiliation Benefits Include:
  • England Athletics Affiliation with Competition Licence.  This gives discount on entering many races and additional discounts for sports brands such as DW Fitness, Sports Tours International and Runderwear though myATHLETICS portal
  • London Marathon Entry - each year the club is allowed to nominate one Sister to run the London marathon, on behalf of the club. If you would like to be considered for the marathon you must be EA affiliated. If more sisters become EA Affiliated we may receive more club places in the marathon

Annual Fees:
Membership: £31 per year

All fees are to be paid by electronic transfer to the SRS bank account below.

Please note - if you are joining one of our training courses, you need to pay £36 to cover the course and your membership.
